What Nama does and does not collect.

The app does not collect your data. There is no account, no sign-up and no server holding your journal. Everything you write and every photograph you attach is stored on your own device. The one exception is this website, which has a box for your email address — see This website below.

What stays on your phone

• Everything you write: notes, meals, sessions, readings and measurements.
• Every photograph you attach. Pictures are copied into the app’s own storage and never uploaded.
• Your preferences: theme, which blocks appear, your reminder times.

None of this leaves the device unless you choose to back it up, which produces a file you control and put wherever you want.

The one thing that leaves the device

If you tag an entry with where you were, Nama looks up that day’s weather. To do that it sends a position rounded to about a kilometre — never your precise location — to a weather service. No identifier accompanies it, and it is not stored by us. The place name is worked out on the device by iOS and stays there.

If you never tag a place, no location is ever used and no request is ever made.

Permissions, and why

• Photos — only when you attach a picture. Nama reads the ones you pick and nothing else.
• Camera — only when you take a picture inside the app.
• Location — only when you tag an entry, and only while the app is open.
• Notifications — only if you ask for a reminder. You can have up to three a day, at times you choose, and they are the only notifications Nama sends.

Every one is optional. Decline any of them and the rest of the app works.

This website

Everything above is about the app. This website is a separate thing, and there is one place on it where you can hand over information: the box asking for an email address so you can be told when Nama is released.

• If you use it, we keep your email address and the date. Nothing else — no name, no tracking, no profile.
• It is used once, to tell you the app is out. It is not sold, shared, or added to any other list.
• The address is stored under a one-way hash of itself, so the stored file cannot be read back into a list of who signed up by anybody who does not already have the address.
• Want it removed before then? Email disu.personal@gmail.com and it is gone.

Cookies and analytics on this site

The site asks, once, whether you are happy for Google Analytics to run. It is off until you say yes:

• If you decline, or ignore the question, nothing loads. No Google script, no cookie, no data sent anywhere. Declining is remembered so you are not asked again.
• If you accept, Google Analytics records which pages are read, roughly where in the world from, and how people arrive. It sets cookies to do it. IP addresses are anonymised, and Google’s advertising and personalisation signals are switched off — this is used to see which writing is worth doing, not to advertise to you.
• You can change your mind by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which makes it ask again.

Separately, the site uses Vercel’s Web Analytics and Speed Insights for page counts and loading speed. Those are cookieless, hold no personal data, and run whatever you choose above.

None of this touches the app. Nama on your phone collects nothing regardless of what you decide here.

Analytics, tracking and advertising

There are none. No analytics SDK, no crash reporter that carries your content, no advertising identifier, no third-party tracking of any kind. Nama does not build a profile of you, because it has nothing to build one from.

Subscriptions

Payment is handled entirely by Apple. Nama never sees your card details. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier and your purchase status so the app knows whether a subscription is active. It receives nothing you have written.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything on the phone. There is nothing else held anywhere to request — the single exception is an email address, if you gave us one on this website, and that is deleted on request.

Children

Nama is not directed at children under 13. The app collects nothing from anyone, and nobody under 13 should use the email box on this site.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
